Democracy In Action!

Our School Councillors worked very hard to canvass support for our proposed new school site (shown below). Over 150 beautifully written letters of support were penned by our children. A covering letter from Year 3 School Councillor, Aaliya Jeilana accompanied the letters from her peers. This was posted to Hackney Planning Service and has been acknowledged by them today. Aaliya read the letter out to the other children in assembly today. It will inspire them even further to engage in the civic process and will help us to continue to promote our commitment to democracy in action at our school. We’d like to thank our School Councillors and all our children for their efforts and we hope for a positive outcome in the planning process.
