Living as a Blind Person

We were honoured to welcome local blind resident Qari Umar who spoke to the children about what it means to live with a visual impairment. Qari Umar was born blind and despite this, memorised the entire Qur’an in Arabic (over 6,000 verses)! His beautiful recitation filled the assembly hall and not only touched the hearts of those present, but help convey the message that disability is not a barrier to learning. He left all those present humbled and inspired.
