Respecting our Parents/Carers

Children in Year 2 class Ibn Abbas performed a heart-warming class play on the theme of respecting our parents/carers. There were some outstanding performances and beautiful references to what Islam teaches about caring for our parents and grandparents. Many thanks to Ms Mukadam, Ms Khanom, Ms Bauhadoor, and of course the children in Ibn Abbas for stealing the hearts of all those present. Children presented flowers to their parents/carers and at the end of the performance there were tears of joy and hugs all around.

Mrs Akhoon, a parent, commented: “I just wanted to express my sincere gratitude and many thanks towards the school, teachers and students who arranged and participated in today’s inspirational assembly. I really enjoyed every aspect of the performance which highlighted how our religion and all societies have given parents an honourable status. It was very apparent that the staff involved had put a lot of effort in organising this wonderful event. The assembly was well planned and rehearsed and I felt very proud of the children’s performances. The flowers presented at the end was also a lovely gesture. I left feeling blessed and uplifted.”
