Super Day on Special Journeys (Al-Israa Wa’l Mi’raj)

Our children enjoyed a fabulous day of themed learning of the topic of a sacred journey in Islam (Al-Israa Wa’l Mi’raj). Children learnt about the Prophet Muhammad’s (peace be upon him) miraculous journey from Mecca to Jerusalem, and then his ascension at night to the Heavens. Children in Reception designed prayer mats and produced a collage of the dessert environment. KS1 and KS2 children had a special assembly on the topic, and in themed literacy lessons wrote about journeys special to them as well as what could be learnt from this important event in the Islamic calendar.
