World Book Day

The Olive School Hackney was awash with colour, costume and comedy as children and staff dressed up as their favourite book character today as part of World Book Day. The children have been engaged in a range of activities centred on literature and drama all week. Together with a theatre performance (read more here), there were mystery guest readers, a book fair (which raised over £750) and a grand parade. Congratulations to all the children and staff for their efforts in designing and making costumes, and for making the day so memorable. The school also raised £195.45 for Beanstalk, a national charity for literacy support.

The gallery of stunning photographs (including parade winners) can be viewed here.
